If you have not been to AZAH since the start of the pandemic, it is important to know that safety continues to be a top priority for our clients, staff and pets. Although disinfecting protocols have always been in practice as an operating hospital, we have been working hard to exceed the CDC and the American Veterinary Medical Association protocols.
Practice Update as of 3/29/2021
While we acknowledge Arizona’s continued progress in reducing the spread of COVID-19 through vaccine distribution and lifted restrictions on businesses, we remain vigilant in maintaining the health and safety of our staff, clients, and patients. At this time, we will continue to maintain our current policies as they have been effective in mitigating the spread of COVID-19. This includes wearing face coverings, for both staff and clients. Thank you for your patience and continued support. We will continue to monitor everything around COVID-19 closely and will communicate accordingly.
- Exams: Clients are welcome in the facility but we ask that unless it is a critical health appointment, that only one individual come in with the pet. We also ask our clients to exit the facility through our side door in order to maintain a single flow of traffic.
- Technician Appointments: We ask that clients bringing pets for these routine services call us from your car upon arrival. A technician will come and retrieve the pet for the scheduled service.
- Medication Refills: When a medication is refilled, we are calling clients when the script is ready for pickup and taking payment over the phone. Please call upon arrival to the parking lot (we have designed several parking spaces on the east side of the building) and a staff member will bring the medication out to you.
- Surgery Pick-up: When your pet is ready to come home after a surgical procedure, please park in one of our dedicated surgery pick-up parking spaces located on the south (front) side of the building next to Pet Supplies Plus. Please call upon arrival and a surgical technician will come out to you for next steps.
We continue to require masks and enforce social distancing protocols in the facility. We are limiting traffic in our lobby areas and placing appointments in our exam rooms as soon as possible. After each appointment, we are disinfecting rooms, as well as wiping down high-touch surfaces regularly. Daily we are spraying the entire hospital with a verified fogging machine. We also have instituted contactless payment methods to make the check-out process safe and convenient.
If you do not feel comfortable coming inside the facility, please call us upon arrival at 480-686-8083 and we can conduct your appointment in one of our designated outdoor exam areas by the far east entrance. We also can come to your vehicle and bring your pet only into the hospital for their services.
For the safety of all clients, pets and staff, please do not visit the hospital if you are experiencing flu-like symptoms. Please contact us to make alternative arrangements. We recognize this is a challenging time for everyone and special circumstances can arise. As always at Arizona Animal Hospital, for whatever happens, we are here. If you have a situation you would like to discuss, please contact us, and ask for a manager.
